IQAP TAKES PART IN PETCO2 PROJECT

The Center for Industrial Technological Development (CDTI) has launched PETCO2 project, aiming at the development of new PET-based compounds coming from recycled bottles, to be used for the production of outdoor restaurant furniture. Having been restricted to other polymer families so far, it is a completely new application for this type of thermoplastic.

The other companies taking part in this project are: Industrias San Isidro (Producer of furniture and metallic and plastic equipment), Max Service (Producer of highly technical plastic parts); Centre Català del Plàstic (I+D public centre that specialises in the plastic sector) and GDE (co-ordinates project development and schedule of activities).

IQAP’s role within the project is to develop new masterbatches for producing personalised furniture from rPET coming from recycled packaging,  to be used under extreme temperature conditions.

In addition to its vast experience in colour and additive masterbatch production, IQAP’s state-of-the-art technology and expertise in high-performance plastics  make the company a regular reliable supplier of the most demanding plastic producers.

It is the company’s strategy to take in the latest market trends as far as polymeric materials and applications are concerned, and to offer the best technical solutions to their customers while improving cost-efficiency. Following this course of action,  this project will enable IQAP to broaden its knowledge of the ever-evolving world of recycled plastic materials, bearing in mind the possibility of applying this experience to other business lines.
